#prayerparents; on making a war room and becoming a warrior

Have you seen the movie War Room yet? My husband, Joey, and I went on a date to see this powerful movie and I left on fire and ready to do battle on my knees. I came straight home and rearranged my closet to make room for a prayer board and a spot to pray, a sanctuary for prayer, a War Room. “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” (Matthew 6:6). I also handmade a print with a quote from the movie, “Seek Him, trust Him, stand upon His word.” I put those words on the background of a cross. It is because of the cross that we are able to battle in a war that is already won. Won because of what happened on the cross. Satan is already defeated. Let us stand upon and claim Christ’s promises. HE HAS already WON! It is available to print for free if you wish.

Every Monday on Instagram, a group of us gather together to pray intentionally. I invite you to join us. Today we are praying intentionally that we will become warriors ON FIRE for Christ. Warriors who will take time EVERY day to fight. So many are wondering what we can do for the refugees in Syria, for the refugees everywhere. WE. CAN. PRAY. Battle FOR them and WITH them on our knees. Let us not be paralyzed with fear from a horrifying image of a boy on a beach . Pray. We must allow God to move and guide us into action. He will place on our hearts what we are to do.

Is there something heavy on your heart that you need to pray for today? Something that is so heavy that you cannot fight it alone? “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14). Be still and pray.

Let us not be immobilized with grief or fear. Let us not be lukewarm to suffering. Let us not bury our heads in the sands of apathy. Instead let us FIGHT! Let us face our fears and sadness and battle on our knees. Prayer is a powerful weapon.

Lord,  I pray today that you awaken the warrior inside each of us. Ignite the fire within us, the fire to fight. Lord help us to burn hot for you.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
