#prayerparents; on Hope

Imagine yourself sitting in a circle with friends. You sit in your favorite place; a hot drink in your hand. We talk a little while and get to know the new people in the group, encouraging them to feel comfortable and welcome. And then we pray… together. This is how I wish we could meet on Monday’s, together, face to face. So let’s imagine, just for the next few minutes, that we are together. Sit in your favorite spot and grab a drink and let’s pray together. Just knowing that we are not alone in this fight against the evil in this world, makes it so much easier. Just knowing that there is someone praying for you and with you helps you feel cared for and supported. You don’t have to pray alone. That’s what we are doing together today. Together, we are praising and thanking God for Hope.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials” (1 Peter 1:3-6).

I don’t know about you, but I know for me, this life can often be difficult. There is heartbreak and sadness. But because Jesus died for us and rose again, we are able to have Hope. Hope that our wayward child will turn around and come home. Hope that one day we will be reunited with those we have lost on this Earth. Hope that one day He will come again and take us home. Hope that… Whatever you are Hoping for today, remember, our Hope is alive in Jesus.

Today, let us rejoice in the Hope we have because of Jesus. Let the Hope of Easter continue living inside us and our children and let us keep our eyes ever on Him.
